Make Yourself at Home
A drink in the kitchen, a meal around the table and a book upstairs. The everyday pleasures of having a whole villa to yourselves.
The first thing you unpack might be your book. Or you may head straight to the kitchen, put a bottle of water in the fridge and have a look around while the others bring their bags in.
There is something familiar about those first few minutes in a house. You find the glasses, choose a seat and start thinking about what you will need for the morning.
At Villa Lux Bali, the kitchen, dining table and two living rooms are all part of your stay. The whole villa is reserved for your group, on Pasut Beach in Tabanan. Once you have arrived, you can begin to make yourself at home.
Start in the kitchen
The kitchen has wooden cabinets, a pale island and stools where you can sit while someone else gets things ready. It connects with the dining area, so preparing something to eat does not have to take you away from the conversation.
You might want to cut some fruit for breakfast or keep a few favourite snacks in the fridge. Perhaps you enjoy cooking on holiday and would like to make a meal together. Or you may mostly use the kitchen for a drink between a swim and a walk outside.
A private villa with a kitchen in Bali gives you those choices. Plan your groceries before you arrive, and ask about any equipment you need for a particular meal. Breakfast, chef services and other meal arrangements should be confirmed separately with the villa team.
A little longer at the table

The long wooden dining table gives everyone a place to sit down together. Plates can be passed around, plans discussed and yesterday's photographs shown to whoever has not seen them yet.
Bring a pack of cards if that is something your family or friends enjoy. Once the table is cleared, you already have a place for a game. Dinner can turn into an evening together without another journey to arrange.
It is one of the spaces worth looking at when choosing a villa for a group. Think about the meals you might share and whether you can picture your own people around the table.
A book in your bag

Upstairs, there is another sitting area with grey sofas, a low table and large windows. You might bring your book up here while the rest of the group is using the downstairs living room.
Pack something you have been meaning to read. A few pages before heading out, or a chapter when you come back, can become a pleasant part of the stay. There is no need to save the book for the flight home.
Having two living rooms also gives a family or a group of friends a choice of where to sit. You can spend time together downstairs and choose another spot when you feel like doing something different.
The places you use every day
The pool and the beach may be the first things you notice in the photographs. Take a look at the spaces inside, too. You may find yourself using the same seat each morning, leaving your book on the side table or gathering in the kitchen while lunch is being put together.
Villa Lux has four ensuite bedrooms for up to eight guests, with a private 20-metre pool and direct access from the garden to Pasut Beach. You can browse the villa photographs to see how the living areas, kitchen and outdoor spaces fit together.
If you can picture your group here, send us your dates and the number of people coming. There is a whole house to settle into for a few days.
